# Configuration & updates

## Configure the supported settings

Use the configuration options documented for your product. Keep notes on changes you make. Avoid editing core files unless the guide explicitly supports it; those edits may be replaced by an update.

Never put passwords, API keys, or private server credentials in client-visible settings.

## Update safely

1. Read the release notes for breaking changes, new dependencies, or migration steps.
2. Back up the current resource and any affected data.
3. Compare the new configuration with your existing settings. Do not overwrite a new config with an old copy without checking for changed options.
4. Apply the documented update steps on a test server.
5. Check the console and test the affected features.
6. Schedule the live update when you can verify it and roll back if necessary.

Keep the old version until the update is confirmed working. Database changes may need their own rollback procedure.

## Release notes

Read the README, INSTALL and CHANGELOG included with your downloaded resource. Confirm its version before applying an update. Official product and update threads are in the Tweak5M Discord Releases forum.

### NOIR Collection additions

If more products are added to the NOIR Collection, existing Collection owners receive those additions through Collection updates without buying them again. This applies to products added to the Collection; future products and release timing are not guaranteed. Back up existing data and follow the update instructions when additions arrive.
